This new financial year has seen many massive changes and regulation requirements, and it’s only been one month!
What you need to get done keeps changing and it’s hard to keep track of what you need to do.
Even though extensions have been given, the over-regulation on you hasn’t changed.
It’s never been more confusing and stressful.
Join ChangeGPS founder Timothy Munro and GM David Boyar to reorient yourself as they lead you through the state of the union and cover
1. A firm’s biggest risk that TASA has exposed
2. Why the small TASA win comes with an unacceptable condition, and what to do about it
3. Laws that impact YOU - Why the consultation process is broken
4. What parts of the new laws Dave and Tim think are here to stay, and how to get your firm ready now (before it's too late)
5. Low-hanging fruit to de-risk your firm
At the beginning of July, the Government released the Tax Agent Services (Code of Professional Conduct) Determination 2024 which included requirement that ALL firms, no matter their size, must have quality control systems.
This requirement is unbelievably onerous for small Practices, so Accountants, Accounting bodies, and ChangeGPS spoke out. On 31 July 2024, the Assistant Treasurer confirmed the Government would give accounting firms with fewer than 100 employees until 1 July 2025 to abide by the new rules if they take genuine steps toward compliance.
